About the Artist

Specializing in multidisciplinary mediums such as acrylic paint, large-scale murals, charcoal, airbrush, raw canvas batik, sculpture or watercolor, Carissa has been working professionally as an artist in the Boise metro area since 2013. She recieved a Multidisciplinary Studies degree with an emphasis in Leadership and Studio Fine Arts in 2019, and concurrent study and overlap with active participation in the Treasure Valley’s creative heart has lead to a rich, diverse understanding of the creative arts and the principles of design and creation.

Carissa engaged as a professional artist in a number of practices over the years, from airbrushing custom duck decoys at Blue Collar Decoys to large scale mural work for the State of Idaho. She has had the honor of participating in a number of “Freak Alley Gallery” events, where artists come forward to paint the alleys of downtown Boise since 2013 as well as mural works for State Hospital South in Blackfoot, Idaho. She received the State of Idaho’s Director’s Customer Service Award from the Department of Health and Welfare in December of 2015 for her work there. As an educator and Paint n' Sip instructor, Carissa found her highest passion; and that art is best when it is created together. She is currently seeking opportunity to bring art education to the beautiful town of Dayton, Washington where she now resides.
